Test d'évaluation de français (TEF) et TEF Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité (TEF IRN)

La Cite, University of regina

The Test d'évaluation de français (TEF) is a French assessment examination organized by the French Language Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris Île-de-France. La Cité offers three versions of the TEF: TEF Canada, TEFAQ (for immigration to Québec specifically) and TEF for studies in France.

No diploma is required to take the TEF. The test is intended for anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to have his or her French-language skills evaluated.

Exam sessions take place during the day, one Friday per month, at La Cité beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Please register for the desired exam session at least 5 days before before the test date. We recommend registering as early as possible, because the number of candidates per session is limited. Forms received after a registration deadline will be retained for a future exam session.

  2. Oral comprehension (classroom test on a computer) 40 minutes, 60 questions
  3. Written expression (classroom test on a computer) 60 minutes, 2 subjects
  4. Oral expression (individual recorded test in front of a local examiner followed by an examiner from Français des affaires) 15 minutes, 2 subjects
