Co-operative Education and Internships Program (Co-op)

Alternate work and study

La Cité’s co-op program, offered in association with the University of Regina’s Centre for Experiential and Service Learning, allows you to develop your French language skills and gain labour market experience while finishing your degree. You’ll have special access to a job bank offering opportunities in Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada.

Students enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to:

  • spend time in a Francophone (or bilingual) work environment for a total of 12 months (placements are for four or eight months)
  • alternate between a term of university classes and one or two terms of work placement
  • finish their program with an academic term
  • take job search preparation workshops

The order of placements and university classes is flexible but you may do a maximum of two consecutive workplace terms during the spring/summer semester. The program also allows for optional participation in a fourth term of work placement.

Here is a possible sequence of university classes and work placements:

Job Fairs

La Cité’s bilingual job fair

Held in collaboration with the Conseil économique et coopératif de la Saskatchewan (CÉCS), this event was created to provide University of Regina students with an opportunity to find bilingual jobs in Saskatchewan and other provinces.

It’s a not-to-be-missed event if you’re seeking student employment! Come meet a wide range of employers who are recruiting and presenting job opportunities: full-time, part-time, summer, and internship. The next edition will be announced soon.

Career Fairs at the University of Regina

The Career Centre organizes career fairs on a regular basis which are open to students, graduates and the general public. Remember to bring a copy of your résumé – you can often meet employers who are looking for bilingual employees. For a complete list of events, see job fairs on campus.
