FRN 250AH - Introduction to traduction

Understand the basic concepts and nature of translation process: definitions and types of translation; working languages in translation; translation procedures; analysis of the meaning to be conveyed and reformulation; use of unilingual and bilingual dictionaries; distinction between language problems and translation problems, between constraints and choices, between linguistic and extralinguistic knowledge.

Course content: Basic notions of translation, analysis of meaning: word, sentence, paragraph, text; analysis and classification of translation difficulties and errors.
