Call for papers - CRFM student conference 2025
"Knowledge Mobilization and Expansion of Francophone Research in the West"
As part of the second edition of its annual student colloquium, the CRFM and its partners, the University of Saskatchewan and Acfas-SK, are pleased to launch this call for proposals.
This student colloquium will take place on March 15-16, 2025, at La Cité universitaire francophone of the University of Regina.
The theme of this multidisciplinary colloquium is "Knowledge Mobilization and Expansion of Francophone Research in the West." The objectives are to amplify the voices of future researchers in social sciences and humanities, promote experiential learning, and encourage participants to share their knowledge to improve the world in which they will work and thrive, thus contributing to a positive social impact.
Who can apply?
Students in the social sciences and humanities conducting research in:
- History
- Linguistics
- Literature
- Translation
- Sociology
- Anthropology
- Psychology
- Political Science
- Economics
- Statistics
- Geography
- Environment
- Related disciplines
All graduate students (master's and doctoral levels) in the social sciences and humanities are invited to submit a proposal. Students whose specializations relate to the Francophone context, particularly those at the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan, are encouraged to submit their communication proposals.
The colloquium will include oral presentations of 15 to 20 minutes each (the exact duration will be confirmed if your proposal is accepted).
Ma Thèse en 180 secondes, organized by Acfas-SK, will take place during the colloquium on Saturday, March 15. A call for participation in this event will be issued by the organizer.

Fees
Participation in the colloquium is free of charge.
Lunch will be provided on-site.
Accommodation and a contribution to travel costs may be offered depending on the grants obtained for the event.

- $250 will be awarded to the person who gives the best presentation (selected by a jury).
- Opportunities to present research in French in Western Canada are rare. Don’t miss this excellent exercise in scientific communication, which will help you prepare for your defense!
- The student colloquium is a stimulating space for reflection and exchange with colleagues from other disciplines. Your participation is a valuable addition to your CV. A participation certificate will be provided upon request after the event.
The event will also feature a plenary session, roundtables, campus tours, and networking time.

The CRFM is a research centre whose mission is, on the one hand, to highlight the experiences of Francophone communities in Saskatchewan and, on the other hand, to mobilize knowledge gained through rigorous research. Its activities and mission serve the interests of Fransaskois and the academic community.
