Apologies for Disruption during January 31 Virtual Event on Zoom

Regina, January 31, 2024. La Cité universitaire francophone at the University of Regina deeply regrets the unfortunate incident that occurred during our Virtual Open House on January 31, 2024 via Zoom.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to ensure a safe and enjoyable virtual experience, the event was hijacked by individuals who displayed inappropriate images and video content, causing distress and discomfort to our attendees. We extend our sincere apologies to all participants, including those watching the livestream on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

As soon as we became aware of the situation, our team took immediate action to shut down the unauthorized users, remove the offensive content, and stop the event. We are also working closely with service providers and relevant authorities to investigate the incident and take additional measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this issue. We will continue to enhance our security protocols and collaborate with platform providers to ensure the highest level of safety for our events.
