General Admission Requirements

A minimum 65% average in the following 30-level (or equivalent) classes:

  • Two English or French*
  • One math or science
  • One language, social studies, or art
  • One additional class from list A or list B (see list below)

* Students enrolled in French immersion or francophone schools may use Français fransaskois A30/B30 or Français immersion in combination with one English Language Arts

Early Conditional Admission

Students may apply to conditionally to the University of Regina in their first semester of grade 12. Benefits include:

  • Academic advising and priority registration
  • Consideration for entrance awards
  • Guaranteed spot in residence

To apply for early conditional admission:

1. Submit documents before the deadline (see below):

  • Registration form
  • High school transcripts*
  • Schedule or planned list of classes in second semester

*Faculty of Education candidates: please include your grade 12 first semester marks in your application

2. Submit official transcripts by August 1:

  • Your final admission average will be calculated by required courses
  • Official transcripts must be sent directly from the Ministry of Education or your high school (out-of-province applicants only)

Required Subjects

For the faculties of Business Administration, Engineering, Kinesiology, Nursing and Science, your admission average will be calculated based on the following classes:

  1. One English or French
  2. One math
  3. One math or science
  4. One language, social studies or art
  5. One class from list A or list B

For the faculties of Arts, Education, Media, Art and Performance, and Social Work, your admission average will be calculated based on the following classes:

  1. One English or French
  2. One math or science
  3. One language, social studies or art
  4. Two classes from liste A or liste B
  • A maximum of two math classes can be used
  • One art, religious studies/Christian ethics or physical education class can be used
  • The 3rd, 4th and 5th classes must be different
  • Minimum averages vary by faculty
  • The Faculty of Business Administration requires a minimum 85% average for its Excellence program (direct entry)
  • The Faculty of Nursing is a competitive entry program and requires a minimum 70% in each class
  • The Faculty of Education is also a competitive entry program

Transfer credits


Participation in Explore does not guarantee a credit transfer at the University of Regina. You must alert the program director for Explore that you wish to obtain transfer credit. The program director will then send a copy of your transcript to the University of Regina. La Cité will then evaluate your transfer credit.


Students that complete an International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) may receive credits at the Univeristy of Regina. To obtain transfer credits, you must complete placement test. Once you have completed the test, you must contact La Cité to indicate whether you are eligible for receive credits.
