Book launch & Social gathering

17:00Come and celebrate the end of the session, in good company during this special social event.
The evening will begin with the launch of the book “La destruction des Indiens des Plaines: Maladies, famines organisées et disparition du mode de vie autochtone” (Presses de l’Université Laval, 2015). The author, James Daschuk, Ph.D., University of Regina, who was awarded the prestigious Sir John A. MacDonald prize for scholarly research in Canadian History for his original version, published in English, “Clearing the Plains: Disease, Politics of Starvation, and the Loss of Aboriginal Life” (University of Regina Press, 2014), will be in attendance. You can purchase your own copy of his new book (cash only) at a special launch price and have it signed by the author in person.
